Financial statements are scorecards of a company’s health! Knowing how to interpret them are key to making good business decisions and successful management of business operations. Find out which statements you should be looking at and what you should be looking at. This is a key skill to have if you want to capitalize on opportunities as they arise and spot those pitfalls which may otherwise be overlooked.

Programme Methodology

  • Workshop will be in “Case-Study” style, using REAL published financial statements of a company listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore.
  • Workshop is suitable for anyone who desires/needs to read published financial statements.
  • From private investors to business owners & entrepreneurs to managers in large corporations.
  • While not a prerequisite, prior basic accounting knowledge will enhance the value of this workshop.
  • SBF has a separate foundation workshop titled “Accounting 101” for this purpose.

Target Audience
Managers & executives who wish to understand accounting fundamentals before moving on to analyzing financial statements.

TRAINER'S INFORMATION:

Mr Chow Chan Kwan has delivered accounting and finance lectures to students pursuing the Certificate in Management (CIM) at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM), and conducted in-house financial training during the initial stage of his career as a statistics and research officer at a Malaysian Bank.

Chow holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting and Finance from Ohio University in the USA. While pursuing his MBA degree, he delivered accounting lectures to freshmen students, a provision under the university’s Graduate Assistant Scholarship Scheme.
