The NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies has developed a breakfast series during which topics of relevance for Africa and those interested in Africa will be addressed. Experts in their fields will be invited to convey their points of view.
Companies intending to establish and develop a business in Africa, have 2 factors to consider. The first is the identification and growth of a market big enough to warrant the establishment of the business. The second, and frequently underestimated, is the establishment of a supply chain that combines global supply chains with regional and local supply chains. Companies that make the mistake of underestimating the complexities inherent in the second factor, end up paying dearly for their mistake. Advanced Maritime Transports has gained prominence as an integrated transport and logistics provider, primarily within the oil & gas upstream sector in Africa, and consequently diversifying its service offering to multiple industry sectors. They have offices in Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa.
Mr Andreas Nowak, Managing Director Asia at AMT SA, will talk about the growth of the business, the expansion into Africa, and dealing successfully with diversifying the business into the other parts of the integrated logictics value chain, and into other sectors.
Attendees can expect to gain insights into the following:
-
Understanding the logistics value chain in Africa
-
Dealing with the challenges of Africa
-
The future of logistics in Africa
-
Network with like-minded individuals
