Business Mission to Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia was Singapore’s 19th largest trading partner in 2017. Among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Saudi Arabia is Singapore’s second-largest trading partner. Singapore-based firms are also among the most active Asian investors in Saudi Arabia, and Singapore’s expertise in oil & gas has long provided a connection between the two countries.

Although the economy continues to be driven primarily by oil related revenues, the kingdom has initiated a long-term economic roadmap. In 2016, Saudi Arabia embarked on an initiative – Vision 2030 – that aims to diversify its economy, and reduce dependence on oil.

Vision 2030 also emphasises development of the Kingdom’s public service sectors in education, healthcare, infrastructure, recreation, and tourism. Singapore businesses can find demand for their expertise in these fields, particularly if they are willing to partner with Saudi companies. This presents immense opportunities and potential for companies who are interested and ready to venture into the market.

To assist Singapore businesses in tapping those opportunities , Singapore Business Federation will be organizing a business mission in conjunction with Singapore senior official’s visit to Saudi Arabia from 3rd to 8th November 2019. Participants will

  • Gain insights into new initiatives and opportunities under Saudi Vision 2030
  • Hear from business representatives about their in-market experiences and advice for new entrants
  • Network with established businesses in Saudi Arabia and relevant government agencies
