[New!] Myanmar In Focus : Employment Law (half day)

Economic cooperation between Singapore and Myanmar is growing, with Singapore being consistently among the country's top investors and trading partners in recent years. Many Singapore companies are considering venturing out or have already ventured into Myanmar, set up businesses or factories and employed locals to run their operations.

What are the issues concerning employment in Myanmar that companies must look out for? Is there any regulatory control over employment contracts entered into with the local employees and what are the protection accorded to them under the laws of Myanmar? Is there severance pay and how is it calculated? What are the occupational safety and health laws to observe? These are some relevant questions which companies will be concerned with when running their business in Myanmar.

Objective

This half day workshop aims to provide guidance to HR departments of companies in the regulatory framework under Myanmar laws governing employment and employee occupational health and safety in Myanmar.
