Thailand In Focus : Employment Law (POSTPONED)

Overview

Thailand’s labour laws and regulations differ from other neighboring Asian countries including Singapore. Comparing to other countries in South East Asia, Thailand’s labour laws are rather highly developed and protective of employee's rights and benefits.  Labour cases are more likely to end in favour of employees.  Thailand’s employment laws include working conditions such as maximum work hours, holidays, sick leave, minimum wage and severance pay. Nevertheless, they also provide employers with the flexibility in managing labour, such as in areas of staff recruitment processes, retrenchment policies etc.

The workshop will provide the brief overview of the minimum requirements that foreign employers should be aware of with regards to Thailand’s existing labour laws and regulations including the answers to questions frequently asked by foreign investors throughout the speaker’s experience and practice.
