*RISE* Virtual : Malaysia In Focus : Employment Law

Malaysia enjoys a relatively productive, highly skilled and English speaking workforce in its years of nation building. In the 3rd quarter of 2019, total jobs in the private sector increased by 121,000 to register 8.7 million jobs. The rate of filled jobs was 97.7 per cent while the vacancies rate was 2.3 per cent. Malaysia is undergoing transformation change in its workforce through its skilled workers in various sectors and has demonstrated its capability and potential to move into the digital economy in the near future.

Trainer Profile

Nimisha Jaya Gobi
Senior Associate
University of Nottingham (LLB Honours), Advocate & Solicitor (High Court of Malaya)

Nimisha is a Senior Associate of the Dispute Resolution & Employment Practice. She has been involved in many complex trials appellate court disputes in Malaysia, including industrial court disputes. She is also experienced in handling international and domestic arbitration matters.

Her key areas of expertise include employment disputes and advisory, director and shareholder disputes, recovery of debts and loans, regulatory compliance, advisory on contract interpretations, court sanctions for mergers and amalgamations, advocacy (interlocutory and trial) and arbitration.

A graduate from Nottingham, she is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales (2012) and Malaysia (2013). During her Bar Professional Training Course, she was awarded the Chrystal McMillan Prize by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple on July 9, 2013 in recognition of being among the top 5% of the Bar Professional Training Course and Taylor's Prize on Criminal Advocacy by Nottingham Trent University.

  • No cancellation will be allowed upon registration but attendance by a replacement delegate from your company due to exigency could be facilitated. Please notify SBF of the change with at least 3 working days’ notice prior to event to enable logistical arrangements for the replacement.
  • Payments are required with registration and must be received prior the event to guarantee your place.
  • Participants will only be admitted if payment/proof of payment has been received prior to the event or on event day.
  • You will still be liable for the payment in the event of no-show on actual day of the event.
  • SBF reserves the right to cancel or make any adjustments to the event.
