Understanding Dementia

The rise of dementia in Singapore has led to calls for more awareness about the condition in society, especially since the signs and symptoms are not obvious. According to the Well-being of the Singapore Elderly (WiSE) study led by the Institute of Mental Health in 2015, one in 10 people aged 60 and above may have dementia. This translated to almost 82,000 people in 2018 and the number is expected to exceed 100,000 in a few years’ time.

Join us for a dementia awareness talk as we cover non-medical topics on the signs and symptoms of dementia, the risk factors, ways to reduce the risk and effective communication tips. Most importantly, a call for greater awareness and intervention in the fight against dementia as a community!
