The NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies has developed a breakfast series during which topics of relevance for Africa and those interested in Africa will be addressed. Experts in their fields will be invited to convey their points of view.


Africa’s economic scene has lately scene a tilt from West Africa to East Africa. In addition, East Africa has seen a lot of infrastructure investment and business development, amongst others due to the Belt and Road Initiative. Various countries have experienced strong economic growth, such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania. Mr Sanjay Sharma, Founder and CEO of AASK Advisory Services, was born in Kenya and has a passion for the continent. As such, AASK Advisory Services specializes in assisting clients in Singapore and Southeast Asia to establish a presence in Africa. Sanjay will talk about the opportunities and challenges facing startup SME’s in East Africa.
